Lorca, a bustling university town, offers every conceivable shopping and business. You will be amazed by the beautiful old buildings, the imposing castle and the cozy squares with terraces and greenery. Do not forget to visit the market on Thursday. Just outside Lorca you will find the large open-air shopping center Parque Almenara, where English films are regularly shown in the cinema.

Another recommendation is the lively market (Saturday) in Velez Rubio, where you will also find numerous restaurants and cozy terraces. The tourist route here via La Parroquia is breathtakingly beautiful. The white village of Velez Blanco, a little higher in the Sierra Maria, is home to a beautiful castle, the interior of which is on display at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Here you can enjoy cozy and tasteful restaurants. Even higher in the mountains you will find the village of Maria, followed by a vast nature park where you can eat delicious local lamb between the trees.

In Puerto Lumbreras you will find all the supermarkets you need, including a large new Mercadona. Here you will also find the postal service, a weekly market (Friday) and much more. Do not forget to visit the numeruos restaurants.

Ready for adventure? From this beautiful casa you can walk or mountain bike endlessly in a breathtaking environment. A day trip to the sea also offers a choice of different types of coast: more rugged in the Cabo de gata, beautiful coves around Cala Carolina (among the 10 most beautiful beaches in Spain!), more sophisticated in the town of Aquilas, special rock structures in Bolnuevo.
